From your Home Screen, tap the blue App Store icon. On a Mac with Apple Silicon, open the Mac App Store and switch to the 'iPhone & iPad Apps' tab on the OwlGate listing.
Tap the Search tab, type OwlGate VPN, and pick the listing by Lord Owl Ltd. Look for the blue shield icon.
Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password. The download begins immediately — around 38 MB.
Tap Open, then use your existing OwlGate account or create one. Free tier works instantly; paid plans unlock all 75+ perches.
iOS shows 'OwlGate would like to add VPN configurations'. Tap Allow, then confirm with your device passcode. This is a one-time step.
Choose a location and tap the blue shield. A small VPN badge appears in the status bar when the tunnel is up.
In OwlGate → Settings → On-Demand, enable auto-connect on untrusted Wi-Fi so the tunnel comes up before any app makes a request.
